Creating a space where people can belong while figuring themselves out
Developed a strategic brand foundation and visual identity for The Inhale Social Club, a community concept centred around breathwork, recovery culture and genuine human connection. The strategy explored the audience, brand positioning, experience and tone of voice before guiding the visual direction, creating a brand that felt warm, grounded and approachable rather than like a traditional wellness brand.
-
The project began with developing the strategic foundation for the brand, exploring who The Inhale Social Club was for, what it should represent and how people should feel when they interact with it.
Audience exploration identified different motivations for joining the community, from people navigating recovery to those experiencing burnout or simply looking for meaningful social connection. This helped shape the brand positioning around creating “a place to belong while you're figuring yourself out.”
The strategy also established a clear personality for the brand: warmly unfussy, quietly confident, honestly human and grounded in the body. These principles became a framework for making creative decisions throughout the identity.
-
The strategy was used to guide the development of the visual identity, translating the brand's ideas of breath, movement, warmth and belonging into a simple and flexible system.
The logo was developed around the concept of inhale and exhale, using a circular form and flowing elements to create a feeling of movement, rhythm and release. The simplicity of the mark reflects the brand's belief that wellness doesn't need to be complicated or performative.
A warm, earthy colour palette was introduced to create a sense of comfort and grounding, moving away from the clinical whites and highly saturated colours often associated with wellness brands.
Typography, spacing and layout were kept minimal and considered, giving the identity room to breathe. Flowing linework became a supporting visual element, reinforcing the idea of breath and movement across different brand touchpoints.
The identity was then applied across social media to demonstrate how the system could communicate different types of content, from community messaging and educational posts to events and everyday brand moments.
-
The final identity gave The Inhale Social Club a clear and cohesive foundation for building its community and future business.
By using the strategy to guide the creative direction, the visual identity became more than an aesthetic. Each element reinforces the same idea of creating a warm, accessible space where people can connect, slow down and work towards growth together.
The resulting system is flexible enough to support social media, events and future community experiences while maintaining a recognisable sense of calm, warmth and connection.
Ultimately, the project created a brand designed not just to attract attention, but to help people understand what The Inhale Social Club is, who it is for and why they might want to be part of it.
